Dress Code Policy

The Colony Golf & Country Club

Entire Club Property
It is expected that Members will dress in a fashion befitting the surroundings and atmosphere provided in the setting of our Club. Members are responsible for ensuring their guests are in compliance with the dress code. Gentlemen’s shirts must be tucked into slacks or shorts, unless approved by Club Management as acceptable fashion. Members and their guests are expected to wear shoes everywhere on Club property, except in the pool area. Persons wearing swimming apparel shall confine themselves to the locker rooms and outside walks to and from the swimming areas, and are not allowed on the golf course, putting greens, practice areas, tennis courts and clubhouse.

Golf Club
Casual golf attire is allowed in the dining room. Tennis attire is allowed in the Grille Room and on the Terrace. No bathing suits, tee shirts, or cutoffs may be worn in the Golf Club. Denim is permitted in the Grille Room and outdoor terrace only. All denim must be in good taste in keeping with smart casual attire and without flaws from wear or design such as tears or discoloration. Denim is not permitted in the main dining room, locker rooms or golf shop. Hats and/or visors are not permitted to be worn by gentlemen anywhere in the clubhouse except the locker rooms, unless as part of a formal attire during special events.

For evening dining in the main dining room, slacks or dress shorts along with collared shirts are required for the gentlemen. Gentlemen’s shirts must be tucked into slacks or shorts, unless approved by Club Management as acceptable fashion. Ladies are expected to dress in a fashion compatible with the dress required of gentlemen.

Golf Course & Practice Facilities
Gentlemen must wear shirts, tucked in, with collars and sleeves. Slacks or golf shorts must be worn. No tank tops, tee shirts, cutoffs, cargo shorts, sweat pants, bathing suits, sweat pants, athletic shorts, gym apparel, or tennis shorts are permitted. Golf hats and visors must be worn with the bill facing forwards, not backwards.

Ladies must wear proper golf attire which includes dresses, shirts, golf slacks or shorts and blouses. Golf shorts or skorts must be no more than 3-5 in. above the knee. No halter tops, tee shirts, bathing suits, sweat pants, athletic shorts, gym apparel, tennis shorts or short shorts are permitted. Ladies may wear sleeveless tops with a collar. If the top has no collar it must have sleeves.

Tennis
All players should be dressed in appropriate tennis attire and footwear. No graphics, other than club or clothing manufacturer’s logos are allowed on shirts or shorts. Please check with the tennis staff if you have any questions concerning appropriate attire. Also note, The Club asks that you please use the Tread Blaster (water shoe cleaner) on shoes after play and prior to entering the facilities.

Spa & Fitness Center
Proper fitness attire is required: proper athletic or gym attire, including full coverage shirts must be worn. Denim of any kind, cargo shorts, short shorts or cut-offs are not permitted. Rubber soled athletic shoes must be worn. Open toed shoes, street shoes or golf shoes are not permitted in the workout areas. When in doubt of whether attire conforms to the Club’s dress code policy, please seek the advice of the Spa & Fitness Staff.

Pool / Pool Deck
Appropriate attire for swimming is governed by the traditional rules of good taste and includes only apparel specifically designed for swimming. This excludes denim of any kind, cargo shorts, cut-offs, Bermuda shorts and other substitute apparel. Swimming attire is restricted to the locker room areas, pool, hot tub and pool deck only. Street shoes are not permitted in the pool area.

Terrace
Diners on the Terrace shall abide by the same codes as diners in the Golf Club, with the exception of swimmers coming upstairs to dine outdoors. Swimmers dining on the Terrace must wear tasteful and modest attire over their swimwear along with a collared shirt.
